“And it shall come to pass in that day that living waters shall go out from Yerushalayim: half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in summer and in winter shall it be.”~  Zechariah 14:8 (The Israel Bible™)

Multiple stories have been recently surfacing regarding new observations of sea-life reappearing in the Dead Sea.

The latest story, from the UK Daily Star, details how environmentalists are now documenting the return of fish to the Biblically historical body of water, where, since ancient times, the sea had remained completely bereft of life due to the extraordinary amount of salt that can be found in the water.

According to the Daily Star:

"Ezekiel is a key figure in the Bible and in his end-of-days prophecy, he foresees the Dead Sea flourishing into life – something that is considered to be impossible due to its high salt content.

Israeli photojournalist Noam Bedein has reported sightings of marine life in small sinkholes around the Dead Sea, as well as vegetation growing.

Photos released by the Dead Sea Revival Project show tiny fish swimming in water that is reportedly from the highly-salinated body of water.

Bedein, who works on the Dead Sea Revival Project, which works to preserve the Sea and other Israeli “water treasures”, said the fish prove the water is “anything but dead”

But, is this evidence of a Biblical miracle described in the End Times actually coming true?

The operative verse, of several, dealing with the age-old prophecy destined to occur in the end times, states the following:

Then said he unto me: ‘These waters issue forth toward the eastern region and shall go down into the Arabah, and when they shall enter into the sea into the sea of the putrid waters the waters shall be healed. And it shall come to pass that every living creature wherewith it swarmeth whithersoever the rivers shall come shall live, and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come thither that all things be healed and may live whithersoever the river cometh. Ezekiel 47:8-9 (The Israel Bible)

According to Breaking Israel News, "Fulfillment of the Dead Sea Prophecy Has Begun," however, that's not the end of the prophecy.

The next verse, this one from Genesis, pertaining to these events, states the following:

"And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, before Hashem destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Hashem. Genesis 13:10 (The Israel Bible)

Now, back to the Daily Star, story:

"The Bible states that after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, the land was turned into a barren wasteland – the same area the Dead Sea is now.

But it was prophesied that life would once again return to the land, with fish in abundance in the water.

“Coming to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, you see prophecy coming true,” Bedein told Breaking News Israel.

“A place that was once cursed in Biblical times, now you can come here to the Dead Sea, explore the sinkholes and see fish where the water has receded – fulfilling prophecies from Ezekiel who talked about the land flourishing and blooming when the Jews return.”

He continued: “The curse is over, and this place and its minerals are now bringing life to people around the world.”

Mr. Bedein and his team have been documenting changes in the Dead Sea over the last two years.

Due to environmental changes, around 600 Olympic pool’s worth of water is being lost from the sea every year – something being described as an “environmental catastrophe.”

Back in 2013, our  popular article, titled,  Signs: The Apocalyptic Vision of The Daniel Project  pertaining to the sequence of events in end times prophecies, lays out the following facts concerning the end times and a new appearance of life in the deserts surrounding Israel and the Dead Sea:

"With modern technology, we know already that a tectonic fissure exists which runs along the center of the Mount of Olives. According to scriptures, the Messiah's return will herald a great earthquake which both splits and moves the Mountain of ancient history apart. This will also cause fresh water to flow from underneath the Mount and towards the Dead Sea changing the entire environment."

In addition to this, we also know of the fresh streams of waters as verified by archeologists indeed flowing underneath both the city of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives.

But, how could an ancient prophet of over 2,500 years ago know of this tectonic fissure and a subterranean aquifer in the middle of what was a desert? Even better?  The Biblical prediction that the Dead Sea will teem with sea life after this event unfolds."

So, do these events show signs, effectively as a precursor, to an event which will cause an explosion of marine life in the Dead Sea?

It was predicted thousands of years ago, and now it does appear to be happening.

Fake Wind? Best-Supporting Actor to a Hurricane in a Weather Drama Event Goes to the Weather Channel's Mike Seidel (Youtube) Barry 2018-09-15T21:59:00Z 2018-09-15T22:07:54Z ” frameborder="0″ width="560″ height="315″>

Kudos to Weather Channel reporter Mike Seidel whose stong-wind portrayal during a live-piece set has elicited peals of laughter, all day long, even as over-sold Hurricane Florence churned into the Carolinas.

While Seidel was performing his best impression of a man about to be lifted away by strong wind bursts, two men strolled casually (if not effortlessly) by, in the background, unbeknownst to Seidel.

Seidel, as a result, has offered comic relief to millions with his wind-walker shenanigans, despite the seriousness of the extremely heavy rain event unfolding in the Carolinas.

The Weather Channel has defended Seidel’s awkward performance, claiming that he was standing on wet grass and was “undoubtedly exhausted.”

They further claimed, “It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass.”

Next, we can possibly expect the Weather Channel to declare that Seidel was standing on the slippery grass rather than the street due to the scalding heat absorbed by the pavement as a direct result of global warming…

Conspiracy Theories Point to Aliens: Black Helicopter Sighted as Officials Remain Close-Lipped on Mysterious Lock-Down of Solar Observatory Barry 2018-09-15T18:35:00Z 2018-09-15T18:36:56Z

At a small solar observatory tucked away in the woods of a national forest here, scientists and other personnel were commanded last week to leave at once.

A week later, the facility remains vacant, and no one is willing to say why.

The mysterious and lengthy evacuation, in a state known for secretive military testing and a suspected UFO crash, has spawned a wealth of speculation. Did the researchers spot something extraterrestrial? Was the solar telescope hacked by a foreign power and deployed to spy on, say, the state’s missile testing range? Or is there an innocuous explanation, suppressed only because of corporate and government resistance to transparency?

On Friday, the entrance to the National Solar Observatory was blocked by yellow crime scene tape and two security guards, who said even they had been kept in the dark. The guards, from Red Rock Security & Patrol in Las Cruces, New Mexico, didn’t give their names but said it was the first day the company was guarding the entrance and only the “director and an assistant” were allowed in. There was no obvious sign of law enforcement activity.

We don’t know anything. We’re just as curious as anyone else,” one guard said. A spokeswoman for the nonprofit group that runs the facility said the organization was addressing a “security issue,” but would offer no additional information, other than, “I can tell you it definitely wasn’t aliens.”

She said Friday the facility “will remain closed until further notice.” Neither the FBI - which was spotted on the premises around the time of the evacuation - nor those who worked at the facility would tell local law enforcement what had happened, said Otero County Sheriff Benny House.

They wouldn’t give us any details,” House said. “I’ve got ideas, but I don’t want to put them out there. That’s how bad press or rumors get started, and it’ll cause paranoia, or I might satisfy everybody’s mind and I might be totally off base."Unlike some of New Mexico’s other research facilities, the solar observatory in Sunspot is not usually shrouded in such secrecy.

The facility - in the Lincoln National Forest in the southern part of the state - is open to the public, and the scientists who work there offer guided tours of the site, said James McAteer, a professor at New Mexico State University and director of the Sunspot Solar Observatory consortium.

When they’re not doing that, they use a special telescope and other instruments to study the sun. There are homes on the site where staff members live.

The Sunspot observatory sits at more than 9,000 feet and is part of a larger astronomy research facility on the site. The adjacent Apache Point Observatory, a collection of telescopes about a half-mile away, was operating as normal on Friday, with about a dozen cars parked outside.

House, the sheriff, said that just before 10 a.m. on Sept. 6, the staff at the Sunspot facility called to report they were “evacuating the building,” and asked if deputies could assist. He said a sergeant and a deputy were dispatched and told upon arrival that the FBI had been there earlier. But neither staff nor the bureau would explain why the facility had to be vacated, House said. He said a volunteer fire chief claimed the FBI had told him there had been a “credible threat” but would provide no details. The sheriff’s office, House said, saw no evidence of a threat, and left after a few hours.

“We tried to find out the threat and what their concerns were,” House said. “They wouldn’t identify anything. They were pretty hush mouthed about it.”

McAteer said his consortium assigns four researchers to the facility, although the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy (AURA), another consortium, manages the buildings and other infrastructure with another four or five people.

My people, we didn’t do the evacuation, and we do the science,” McAteer said.

The property manager also came into the post office on the facility and asked the woman working there to leave, but gave no indication why that was necessary, said Rod Spurgeon, a Postal Service spokesman. Spurgeon said post office operations have continued at the nearby Cloudcroft facility.

Kinsey Featherston, a spokeswoman for Rep. Stevan Pearce, R-N.M., said the congressman’s office had reached out to the FBI and were told “it is an ongoing investigation.”

“We will continue monitoring the situation, but at this time, we have no information,” she said. An FBI spokeswoman declined to comment, referring questions about the matter to the consortium that manages the buildings. Shari Lifson, an AURA spokeswoman, said in a statement that her group was “addressing a security issue” and had “decided to temporarily vacate the facility as a precautionary measure.”

She said they were “working with the proper authorities on this issue,” although she declined to specify who those authorities were. Lifson also declined to specify the security issue, other than to dispute the idea aliens were involved. The solar observatory is about a 2 1/2-hour drive from Roswell, New Mexico, the site of a now infamous crash in 1947 that the Air Force later claimed was an experiment designed to detect Soviet nuclear activity by monitoring sound waves. The incident sparked so much interest that there is now a UFO museum in the city.

House said his deputies spotted a Black Hawk helicopter in the area around the time the building was evacuated - although he noted that is not uncommon.

Sunspot and Apache Point offer scenic views of the Tularosa Basin, which includes two sensitive military sites, including Holloman Air Force Base and White Sands Missile Range. A public affairs officer at White Sands said there was no testing or other activity at the range that would have prompted the evacuation in Sunspot. As of Friday, the observatory was still shuttered, although McAteer said the researchers were ready to return “as soon as possible.”

The observatory even seemed to embrace the interest in the mysterious evacuation, writing on its website, “With the excitement this closure has generated, we hope you will come and visit us when we do reopen, and see for yourself the services we provide for science and public outreach in heliophysics.”

Heavily Politicized National Academy of Sciences in DC Issues Veiled Summertime Warning for Global Governance & Worldwide Socialism to Avert Hothouse Disaster Barry 2018-08-11T00:51:00Z 2018-08-11T01:06:42Z

Point-in-fact, we’ve noted repeatedly over the last decade–that the hidden hands behind all of the climate change sensationalism’s true goal is, in fact, one of a centralized world government and totalitarian Socialism financial system worldwide.

A former treasurer of a major world organization even admitted to the fact that global economic changes were the actual goal being sought–so, it’s not surprising that when the searing heat of late Summer arrives, all of the indoctrinated academics start clucking that the sky is literally falling.

The climate hasn’t changed, nor has the true science, however, the cult of individuals trying to gain authority over it, along with pretty much everything else, have.

It’s the Hegelian Dialectic on full display…

While scientists and environmentalists debate when global warming may turn Earth into a “hothouse,” conservatives and other experts were skeptical of renewed warnings of a “tipping point.”

Why? Because scientists warning of “hothouse Earth” veered from presenting a scientific case (a dubious one) for alarmism into political activism.

The “hothouse Earth” paper that’s made waves in the media calls for a “deep transformation based on a fundamental reorientation of human values, equity, behavior, institutions, economies, and technologies.” Many conservatives took that to mean global government and socialism.

Bloomberg New Energy Finance co-founder Michael Liebreich, who’s not a skeptic of man-made warming, called the paper “a crock,” adding “as a conservative I can’t be bothered to read it.”

(RELATED: Scientists Issue ‘Absurd’ Doomsday Prediction, Warn Of ‘Hothouse Earth’)

When challenged, Liebrich doubled down, quoting directly from the paper that called for “collective human action” on global warming.

The paper Liebrich is referring to was published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. A group of scientists warned of a global warming tipping point at 2 degrees Celsius — the goal of the Paris agreement.

The authors call for “fundamental societal changes” to human society while generating alarming media headlines.

Even liberal environmental writer Eric Holthaus tweeted the “hothouse” paper had “some @DemSocialists shit,” referring to the Democratic Socialist of America political party.

The Global Warming Policy Forum, the political arm of a U.K.-based think tank co-founded by former conservative Member of Parliament Nigel Lawson, blasted the “socialist agenda of climate alarmism.”

Conservatives weren’t the only ones calling out the “hothouse” paper’s political tinge. Alex Trembath of the ecomodernist Breakthrough Institute noted his skepticism of the paper.

University of Colorado professor Roger Pielke, Jr. noted the lead authors of the “hothouse Earth” paper put out a similar essay in 2013, calling for an “institution (or institutions) operating, with authority, above the level of individual countries to ensure that the planetary boundaries are respected.”

Image of The Beast for A New World Order: Visionary Inventor Elon Musk Warns AI Research Could Create an 'Immortal Dictator' Barry 2018-04-07T01:13:00Z 2018-04-07T01:13:17Z

Many have attributed to the fact that the biblically prophesied "Image of the Beast" in modern times, may refer to an all-knowing AI deity created by man in order to take benevolent global control, which in turn, ends up wreaking havoc and tyranny over the Earth.

Now, some of the world's greatest scientific minds, not necessarily religious, by the way, are foretelling of the possibility that man would turn to Artificial Intelligence as a more beneficial way of governing mankind.

Over the centuries we've witnessed the disciplines of science, archeology, history & technology, converging with Biblical prophecy countless times, however, this particular instance of convergence may prove to be the most terrifying ~Refocus Notes

Imagine your least-favorite world leader. (Take as much time as you need.)

Now, imagine if that person wasn't a human, but a network of millions of computers around the world. This digi-dictator has instant access to every scrap of recorded information about every person who's ever lived. It can make millions of calculations in a fraction of a second, controls the world's economy and weapons systems with godlike autonomy and — scariest of all — can never, ever die.

This unkillable digital dictator, according to Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, is one of the darker scenarios awaiting humankind's future if artificial-intelligence research continues without serious regulation. [Super-Intelligent Machines: 7 Robotic Futures]

In a new documentary, Elon Musk warns that an 'immortal' digital dictator could forever trap humanity in its grasp unless we start regulating technology ASAP. Credit: Max Whittaker/Getty

We are rapidly headed toward digital superintelligence that far exceeds any human, I think it's pretty obvious," Musk said in a new AI documentary called "Do You Trust This Computer?" directed by Chris Paine (who interviewed Musk previously for the documentary "Who Killed The Electric Car?"). "If one company or a small group of people manages to develop godlike digital super-intelligence, they could take over the world."

Humans have tried to take over the world before. However, an authoritarian AI would have one terrible advantage over like-minded humans, Musk said.

"At least when there's an evil dictator, that human is going to die," Musk added. "But for an AI there would be no death. It would live forever, and then you'd have an immortal dictator, from which we could never escape."

And, this hypothetical AI-dictator wouldn't even have to be evil to pose a threat to humans, Musk added. All it has to be is determined.

"If AI has a goal and humanity just happens to be in the way, it will destroy humanity as a matter of course without even thinking about it. No hard feelings," Musk said. "It's just like if we're building a road, and an anthill happens to be in the way. We don't hate ants, we're just building a road. So, goodbye, anthill."

Those who follow news from the Musk-verse will not be surprised by his opinions in the new documentary; the tech mogul has long been a vocal critic of unchecked artificial intelligence. In 2014, Musk called AI humanity's "biggest existential threat," and in 2015, he joined a handful of other tech luminaries and researchers, including Stephen Hawking, to urge the United Nations to ban killer robots.

He has said unregulated AI poses "vastly more risk than North Korea" and proposed starting some sort of federal oversight program to monitor the technology's growth.

"Public risks require public oversight," he tweeted. "Getting rid of the FAA [wouldn't] make flying safer. They're there for good reason."

"Do You Trust This Computer?" focuses on the growing public health and safety concerns linked to the rise of AI, and contains interviews with many other tech moguls, researchers and Erica the creepy news-casting robot.

The documentary is available to watch for free here until Sunday (April 8).

The Climate Change Secret They Don't Want You To Know About: Upcoming Solar Cycle 25 To Usher In Icy New Grand Solar Minimum Barry 2018-03-20T00:33:00Z 2018-03-20T00:33:46Z

Mini-Ice-Age Coming: Latest Study On Solar Cycles Destroys "Climate Change" Theory

One school of thought largely represented by the political left puts forth the onus that man is responsible for any and all climate changes that occur, including droughts, violent storms, and wide temperature variations.

The other and more valid school points to solar cycles, proffering the well-accepted theory that Earth's climate is almost solely predicated on the Sun's solar cycles, and the many variations associated with the Sun's activities.

The latest studies, after REAL scientific reviews, has been judged to be extraordinarily accurate...this is, most likely the real story, that will prove difficult for the globalist to politically advantage...especially, at this point

~Refocus Notes

There’s a lot of evidence mounting that solar cycle 25 will usher in a new grand solar minimum.

Since about October 2005, when the sun’s magnetic activity went into a sharp fall, solar activity has been markedly lower, with solar cycle 24 being the lowest in over 100 years.

Cycle 24 is part of a weakening progression of solar cycles since 1980:

Meteorologist Paul Dorian at Vencore weather writes:

All indications are that the upcoming solar minimum which is expected to begin in 2019 may be even quieter than the last one which was the deepest in nearly a century.

Some scientists are even saying that we are on the cusp of a new grand solar minimum, and the upcoming cycle 25 may have even lower cycles after it.

This empirical modeling of solar recurrent patterns has also provided a consequent multi-millennial-scale experimental forecast, suggesting a solar decreasing trend toward Grand (Super) Minimum conditions for the upcoming period, AD2050–2250 (AD 3750–4450).

Simon Constable, in Forbes writes:

The question is whether we will enter another grand solar minimum just like the Maunder minimum which, if history is a guide, would mean a period of much colder weather winters and summers.

Once upon a time, people would worship the sun as a deity. It was with good reason that they did so for the sun provided much of what sustains life on our small planet, warmth and bountiful harvests. How would we survive if the sun stopped beating down on us? It was a real fear.

Then came science and industrialization. As the new era took over, we mostly forgot the sun and its importance to our existence. (Of course, most people occasionally complain that it is either too sunny or not sunny enough.)

But just because we stopped paying close attention doesn’t mean that it lost any of its importance to our world. And neither does the fact that the life of the sun is far more complex than many people realize. Indeed, if we are to believe the experts, the sun’s behavior is about to change in a way that could have dramatic consequences for the food we eat and the broader economy.

That’s why it is rather handy that an important book on the matter was recently published in paperback. Nature’s Third Cycle: A Story of Sunspots by Arnab Rai Choudhuri.
The third cycle is that of the Sun and the dark spots which appear on the solar surface. The first two cycles are day versus night and the changing seasons.
Choudhuri gives us a condensed history of the study of the sun and of sunspots over the past few centuries back to Galileo Gailiei, whose discovery of the Sun’s 27-day rotation marked the serious start of solar physics.

The remarkable tale includes skilled amateurs as well as professional academics, the rivalries between the main players, and a probable husband-wife murder-suicide thrown into the mix. Yes, there is a lot in the story of studying the sun, and the author does a masterful job of making it a fascinating read. Not too shabby when many scientific books do more to muddle the reader than to enlighten.

The names which might be familiar include the following: space observatory pioneer George Ellery Hale; discoverer of Uranus William Herschel; and astronomer Edward Maunder. It was the last of those men who identified a period from about 1640 through 1715 when the spots on the Sun disappeared. Usually, the number of dark blemishes on the solar surface tends to rise and fall in somewhat predictable 11-year cycles.

The period when the spots vanished, a so-called grand solar minimum, also coincided with a sort of mini-ice age with harsh winters and short cool summers. It became known as the Maunder minimum after the man who studied it.

Of course, the idea that the temperature of the earth could be changed by mysterious fluctuating dark patterns on the sun’s surface is nothing if not controversial. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t true, as the author states:

[…] the earth indeed becomes cooler when sunspots go missing. Exactly how this happens is still a question on which experts seem to have very differing views and which is unlikely to be settled definitively in the near future...

Federal Judge To Hold 'First of Its Kind' Hearing on the Globalist Religion of Climate Change Pitting Elite Environmental Left Against Oil Companies Barry 2018-03-09T00:28:00Z 2018-03-09T00:28:52Z

Is it science or is it religion?

If we don't do something now, we'll be consumed by fire in a virtual hell on earth, and it will be the unbelievers' fault.

If ever you've wondered what happened to old-time religion, it seems you don't have to look very far, these days.

The cult-of-Climate Change is now the new age "old-time religion" of the modern-day, and it's filled with fiery, government-report-thumping disciples wielding loosely transcripted pseudo-scientific reports as if chiseled by the Almighty, himself.

The climate change commandments are brought down to us from a mythic, storm-ravaged,  mountain of false data located somewhere in Switzerland, and loosely referred to as the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). The devotees of this particular faith are nothing if not brain-washed alter-poppets yearning to be free from the Lucifer they now commonly refer to as modern industry and capitalism.

Their voices, crying from a crumbling urban wilderness, demand "set my earth free!" (or else)

The Messiah of this newly constituted faith comes to us in the form of a legion of government bureaucrats, struggling to make "settled science fiction" known to all man, and quickly before it's much too late. Their gospel is a collection of graphs and "customized"  thermodynamic data which only they,  the Pharisees and deacons of statism, can accurately disseminate to the uncleansed and unknowing masses.

In fact, there are even tithes for this new "old-time religion," slated to be gathered by the world's governments in the form of new taxes and fees collected from the worst of the original their religion is going to court

By Steven Leavenworth

A federal judge in San Francisco has ordered parties in a landmark global warming lawsuit to hold what could be the first-ever U.S. court hearing on the science of climate change.

The proceeding, scheduled for March 21 by U.S. District Court Judge William Alsup, will feature lawyers for Exxon, BP, Chevron and other oil companies pitted against those for San Francisco and Oakland — California cities that have accused fossil fuel interests of covering up their role in contributing to global warming.

“This will be the closest that we have seen to a trial on climate science in the United States, to date,” said Michael Burger, a lawyer who heads the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University.

Experts on both sides say Alsup’s call for a climate change “tutorial” is unlike anything they’ve heard of before.

“I don’t know of any judge who has asked for a tutorial like this,” said Steven E. Koonin, a physicist and former Energy Department undersecretary known for his contrarian views on global warming research. “I think it is a great idea.

Anybody having to make a decision about climate science needs to understand the full spectrum of what we know and what we don’t know.”

In the five-hour hearing, both the cities and the oil companies will have a chance to present Alsup with their views on the history of climate change science, and the most important recent findings in the field.

Alsup ordered the tutorial as part of his ruling last week that the San Francisco and Oakland lawsuit would be heard in federal court, as opposed to California state court.

The cities had hoped their lawsuit would be heard in state court since California has an established “public nuisance” law that hasn’t been developed in the federal court system.

Supporters of the oil industry seized on Alsup’s ruling as a victory against what they call “sham lawsuits.”

But the judge didn’t completely rule in the industry’s favor. His ruling created the possibility that oil companies could be liable under federal common law for causing a “nuisance.” Environmentalists applauded that part of his ruling, as well as his decision to hold the March 21 tutorial.

“The court is forcing these companies to go on the record about their understanding of climate science, which they have desperately tried to avoid doing,” said Marco Simmons, general counsel for EarthRights International, which helps groups worldwide litigate against major industries.

Alsup, appointed to the bench by former President Bill Clinton, has a reputation for immersing himself in the technicalities of legal cases. He famously taught himself the Java programming language in deciding a lawsuit that pitted Silicon Valley giants Oracle against Google.

More recently, he asked lawyers for a tutorial on self-driving car technology in a lawsuit that pits Google’s Waymo against Uber.

In the upcoming climate change tutorial, Alsup told lawyers he wants a two-part presentation from both sides over roughly five hours.

“The first part will trace the history of scientific study of climate change, beginning with a scientific inquiry into the formation and melting of the ice ages, periods of historical cooling and warming, smog, ozone, nuclear winter, volcanoes, and global warming. Each side will have sixty minutes,” the judge wrote in his order.

“The second part will set forth the best science now available on global warming, glacier melt, sea rise, and coastal flooding. Each side will again have another sixty minutes,” he added.

Science has been on trial before, most famously in the Scope’s Monkey Trial,” the 1925 legal case on the teaching of evolution. But it is unlikely the March 21 tutorial will be a pure debate on global climate change. Exxon and other oil companies have already stated that “the risk of climate change is clear and the risk warrants action.” The oil industry has mostly accepted scientific findings that increasing carbon emissions are warming the atmosphere.

Instead, the hearing and ongoing trial will focus more on who knew what, when, and what they did in response.

“At the core of the plaintiff’s lawsuit is the idea that these companies have long known about risks of their products ... yet they took a course of action that resisted regulation and sought to keep them on the market as long as possible,” said Burger, the Columbia climate law expert.

By contrast, the fossil fuels companies will likely emphasize the uncertainty that existed as climate science evolved, and how they needed “to act in the best interests of their shareholders,” given the uncertainty, he added.

Koonin,[above] who worked for two years in the Obama administration and now teaches at New York University, has long called for a public debate on climate change science. While he agrees that human-caused carbon dioxide has warmed the atmosphere, he takes issue with some computer models about future impacts and disagrees with calls for drastic changes in energy use.

Writing in the Wall Street Journal last year, Koonin called for a “Red Team/Blue Team” process to debate and test assumptions and conclusions about climate change. That idea was picked up by EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, a close ally of the fossil fuel industry, who proposed the same thing for his agency, an idea he has apparently put on hold.

Koonin said any federal debate about climate change should involve all the government’s science agencies, not just EPA. He doesn’t think the U.S. District Court tutorial will substitute for a full public debate, but it could help air some key areas of dispute, he said.

He also expects there will be high public interest in the March 21 court hearing.

“You will probably get many more people than I chiming on the arguments made,” he said. “So you might get an effective second road of the red-blue exercise.”

Planetary Paradox: Latest Climate Change Scientific Report Suggests That the Global Warming Caused by Pollution is Simultaneously Cooling the Planet Barry 2018-01-22T23:43:00Z 2018-01-23T00:44:01Z

CRN Politics

By Barry Secrest

According to a recent report from Scientific American,  the global pollution which was supposedly causing all the global warming out there is also the very thing that is keeping the Earth cooler than it might have been without all the pollution.

Yes indeed, you read that correctly.

The study from the journal Geophysical Research Letters asserts the following, in part:

"Pollution in the atmosphere is having an unexpected consequence, scientists say—it's helping to cool the climate, masking some of the global warming that's occurred so far.

"That means efforts worldwide to clean up the air may cause an increase in warming, as well as other climate effects, as this pollution disappears."

So, if indeed pollution is the culprit that causes climate change, then how is it that pollution is also the very thing that's simultaneously saving the planet?

It's a question for the ages.

However, Al Gore, who crisscrosses the planet in his private jet spewing carbon like a mini-volcano while howling about all the ill-effects that modern industry has on warming the planet, could, again profit splendidly from his global warming narrative, by stating that his lavish activities are merely intended to save the planet, from itself.

However, this particular theorem also fits rather snugly with the climate change industry's other paradoxical assertion that global warming is now causing wide-ranging global cooling and a great deal more snow.

We wonder, by the way, if perhaps, the scientists originating these particularly mind-bending reports might, in fact, be based in Colorado...

More on this enigmatic story from Scientific American:

"Pollution in the atmosphere is having an unexpected consequence, scientists say—it's helping to cool the climate, masking some of the global warming that's occurred so far.

That means efforts worldwide to clean up the air may cause an increase in warming, as well as other climate effects, as this pollution disappears.

New research is helping to quantify just how big that effect might be.

study published this month in the journal Geophysical Research Letters suggests that eliminating the human emission of aerosols—tiny, air-polluting particles often released by industrial activities—could result in additional global warming of anywhere from half a degree to 1 degree Celsius.

This would virtually ensure that the planet will warm beyond the most stringent climate targets outlined in the Paris climate agreement. World leaders have set an ambitious goal of keeping global temperatures within 1.5 to 2 degrees Celsius of their pre-industrial levels. But research suggests the world has already warmed by about 1 degree—meaning even another half a degree of warming could push the planet into dangerous territory.

"Since we're trying to keep to a 1.5- or 2-degree target, then this is something we still need to keep in mind," said Bjørn Samset, a climate scientist at Norway's CICERO Center for International Climate Research and the study's lead author.

The research also suggests that removing aerosols could have striking regional consequences by causing major changes in precipitation and other weather patterns in certain parts of the world. Aerosols don't linger in the atmosphere for very long, meaning they don't have time to spread around the world the way carbon dioxide and some other greenhouse gases do. Their effects tend to be strongest in the regions where they were emitted in the first place.

This means the places where air pollution is most severe are likely to experience some of the greatest effects if that pollution were to disappear.

East Asia, where aerosol emissions are some of the highest in the world, would be likely to experience a strong increase in precipitation and extreme weather events. To a certain extent, these effects might carry over to other parts of the Northern Hemisphere, which are connected to Asia via major atmospheric currents.

"We also see that the impact that these aerosols have on the temperature in Asia really transports northwards to the Arctic region, northern Europe, Norway, the northern U.S.," Samset noted. "That part of the world is also quite sensitive to the changes in aerosols in Asia."
