It appears that speaker Boehner has learned his lessons well, with regard to years of serving as Obama’s “oppositional” understudy, in the US House.

Despite the fact that the American people, by rote, no longer view Boehner  as being fit to serve as opposition leader in the US House, Rep. Boehner clings to his oligarchic position against the will of both his party’s constituents and its many members.

In fact, Boehner’s autocratic intimidation skills have now been honed to quite a keen edge with many congressional members seemingly frightened out of their wits, at the thought of crossing Boehner.

For a fellow who seems to go teary-eyed at the drop of a hat, Boehner sure has his party snowed; or, maybe the American people have simply voted for a caucus of congressional bed-wetters, this time around.

My, my, at how far we have come from “Give me liberty or give me death"?

While some members seem to actually fear the fact that Pelosi could wind up as speaker once again, if the vote somehow goes terribly wrong –and at every juncture, we say, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Boehner has already given away most of the leverage the opposition held.

Boehner, if he remains in his position, after having already given away the store in secret and going against his promise to place every bill on display for 36 hours prior to voting, could actually place the GOP at the heart of a massive pincer movement between the media, the Democrats, Obama, and Conservatives themselves.

Who would want to be at the center of that storm? Boehner may win this battle, but he will most definitely lose the war. Boehner has, undeniably breached the bond of trust between his position and the American people; it is simply time for him to go.

Texas Republican Louie Gohmert said there is “real intimidation” happening in the fight to determine who will be the next speaker of the House of Representatives.

Gohmert announced Sunday that he is running for speaker to replace Congressman John Boehner (R-Ohio), and Glenn Beck warned him Monday that if he doesn’t win, his political future is over.

“If you don’t win, you’re toast,” Beck said. “And that’s exactly what they’re going to be saying [to those who don’t vote for Boehner]. That’s what Boehner is saying to everybody right now. ‘Listen, you don’t vote for me, you don’t play ball with me now, you’re not getting on any committee. You’re not going to be heard from again.’”

“Yes,” Gohmert said. “I tell you what, Glenn, there is some real intimidation going on. Apparently this morning there was a statement released by Boehner’s people saying David Brat was going to vote for him.”

Gohmert said one tactic of Boehner’s team may be something like: “We’re going to get names out there of people that may not vote for us, but when they see in print that we’re counting on them voting for us, they’ll be afraid not to.”

“Unfortunately for Boehner,” Gohmert continued, Brat still says he will not vote for the current speaker….
