Yes, there is a religious left, as hard as that may be to believe, however, most of these adherents belong to the global club of the elites and one-world government types.
They don't believe in borders & embrace an arms-wide-open stance to Islam, for the most part.
Their belief systems, from what we've been able to gather, mixes in all sorts of ecumenical ( universal church ) precepts, in many cases and could be described as a highly customized form of Christian belief, to put it mildly....but the Pope appears to be at least one of their champions (they apparently forgot what being protestant means & why) and largely stand in opposition to evangelicals & of course, President Trump....

(Reuters) - Since President Donald Trump's election, monthly lectures on social justice at the 600-seat Gothic chapel of New York's Union Theological Seminary have been filled to capacity with crowds three times what they usually draw.
In January, the 181-year-old Upper Manhattan graduate school, whose architecture evokes London's Westminster Abbey, turned away about 1,000 people from a lecture on mass incarceration. In the nine years that Reverend Serene Jones has served as its president, she has never seen such crowds.
"The election of Trump has been a clarion call to progressives in the Protestant and Catholic churches in America to move out of a place of primarily professing progressive policies to really taking action," she said.
Although not as powerful as the religious right, which has been credited with helping elect Republican presidents and boasts well-known leaders such as Christian Broadcasting Network founder Pat Robertson, the "religious left" is now slowly coming together as a force in U.S. politics.
This disparate group, traditionally seen as lacking clout, has been propelled into political activism by Trump's policies on immigration, healthcare, and social welfare, according to clergy members, activists, and academics. A key test will be how well it will be able to translate its mobilization into votes in the 2018 midterm congressional elections.
"It's one of the dirty little secrets of American politics that there has been a religious left all along and it just hasn't done a good job of organizing," said J. Patrick Hornbeck II, chairman of the theology department at Fordham University, a Jesuit school in New York.
"It has taken a crisis, or perceived crisis, like Trump's election to cause folks on the religious left to really own their religion in the public square," Hornbeck said.
Religious progressive activism has been part of American history. Religious leaders and their followers played key roles in campaigns to abolish slavery, promote civil rights and end the Vietnam War, among others. The latest upwelling of left-leaning religious activism has accompanied the dawn of the Trump presidency.
Some in the religious left are inspired by Pope Francis, the Roman Catholic leader who has been an outspoken critic of anti-immigrant policies and a champion of helping the needy.
Although support for the religious left is difficult to measure, leaders point to several examples, such as a surge of congregations offering to provide sanctuary to immigrants seeking asylum, churches urging Republicans to reconsider repealing the Obamacare health law and calls to preserve federal spending on foreign aid.
The number of churches volunteering to offer sanctuary to asylum seekers doubled to 800 in 45 of the 50 U.S. states after the election, said the Elkhart, Indiana-based Church World Service, a coalition of Christian denominations which helps refugees settle in the United States - and the number of new churches offering help has grown so quickly that the group has lost count.

The Jesuit pope has once again let loose with a series of statements which essentially trendlines his status as the “New World Order” pope, and under no uncertain terms.
In fact, it almost seems that this particular pope goes to extracurricular labors to both consolidate his standing as the prophecied secular-globalist pope of the End Times, while seeming, more often than not, to be a mystical oddity at the international petting zoo, kept up by the global elites.
In the pope’s latest Jesuit misadventures, Francis, again, firmly placed himself as a member of the globalist axis in good standing, as allied against the many millions of traditional Catholics who value, not only their own national cultures, but also the historical culture of the Catholic Church, which appears to be fading fast.
In the pope’s initial antithetical declaration, a document which appeared in a major Catholic institutional website laid forth the need for a global central banking monetary institution, or authority, which would consolidate all the other various banks into one behemoth financial institution.
It’s the stuff of nightmares as if the various central banks, across the planet, are not already intimately entwined.
But, for all the Evangelical watchers out there, especially those who are steeped in the prophecies of Daniel, Ezekial, and Revelation, among others, the chill which probably ran up their spines, must have felt like they’d backed into an electric fence.
Meanwhile, or conversely, the secular banking elites of the global [anti-Christ] movement, must have been dancing a serpentine jig in the streets.
From the website Antonio Aquinas comes our first rather alarming story:
“It seems the current occupant of St. Peter’s Chair will take on a new function which is outside the purview of the office that the Divine Founder of his institution had clearly mandated.
Besides being a self-proclaimed expert on global warming and a vociferous advocate of societal-wrecking mass immigration, it looks as if “Pope” Francis has entered the realm of global economics specifically, international monetary policy.
In an 18-page document issued through the Vatican’s Office of Justice and Peace, Bergoglio has called for, among other repressive and wealth-destructive measures, the establishment of a “supranational [monetary] authority” to oversee international monetary affairs:
“In fact, one can see an emerging requirement for a body that will carry out the functions of a kind of ‘central world bank’ that regulates the flow and system of monetary exchanges similar to the national central banks."*
The paper, “Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority,” contends that a world central bank is needed because institutions such as the IMF have failed to “stabilize world finance” and have not effectively regulated “the amount of credit risk taken on by the system.”
Naturally, as one of the planet’s preeminent social justice warriors, Bergoglio claims that if a world central bank is not commissioned, then the gap between rich and poor will be exacerbated even further:
“If no solutions are found to the various forms of injustice, the negative effects that will follow on the social, political and economic level will be destined to create a climate of growing hostility and even violence, and ultimately undermine the very foundations of democratic institutions, even the ones considered most solid.”
Bergoglio acknowledges that if a central monetary authority is established it will mean a loss of sovereignty and independence among nations, but such “costs” are well worth the overall societal and economic gains:
“Of course, this transformation will be made at the cost of a gradual, balanced transfer of a part of each nation’s powers to a world authority and to regional authorities, but this is necessary at a time when the dynamism of human society and the economy and the progress of technology are transcending borders, which are in fact already very eroded in a globalized world.”
While the document demonstrates that Bergoglio has not a clue of basic monetary theory, it shows again that the “pope” is a radical socialist who has more in common with the loony ideas of Karl Marx than he does with Roman Catholicism” (Source)
In our 2nd installment, of the most recent and requisitely bizarre agenda of the “New World Order” Pope, Bergoglio, again, took aim at the anti-globalist movement taking place across the planet, which has proven exceedingly dangerous to the incremental designs of the global elite.
From the UK Independent:
“Pope Francis has warned in an interview with a German newspaper of the dangers of rising populism in western democracies. The pope told Die Zeit on Thursday “populism is evil and ends badly as the past century showed.” He also said he rejects any kind of cult around the papacy and that he’s a normal believer just like everyone else.”
But, it wasn’t just the Pope’s bold, if not anti-democratic stance against nations interested in preserving their various cultural identities, he then let loose with an ad hominem attack on all of those who’ve never encountered a lapse of their own respective faith, in their creator.
Francis stated, again, from the Independent:
“I don’t see myself as anything special… I’m a sinner, I’m fallible.” In the first major interview that Francis has given a German newspaper, the pope was asked whether he experienced moments in which he doubted the existence of God. He responded: “I, too, know moments of emptiness.
But, he pointed out periods of crisis are also a chance to grow, saying a believer who doesn’t experience that remains “infantile.”
Or perhaps confident in their faith?
But, from another, more critical angle, did not the pope, in fact, just castigate as infantile, all of those, including the many millions in his own flock, who’ve remained more or less certain of their faith in a creator of whom the pope stands, at least for the better part, as a rather indignant press secretary?
Not exactly a confidence builder for those of a lesser certainty, when it comes to faith, it should be noted.
